Something Worth Fighting For

Do you love watching a show where a character finds something or someone worth fighting for? Do you feel that rush and that desire to see them succeed? Do you feel inspired to find the same?

Sitting in the back of my mind was a webinar by David Burkus entitled How Great Teams Find A Purpose Worth Rallying Around. This quote drives his point home:

People don’t want to join a company; they want to join a crusade.

Reading Reinventing Organizations by Frederic Laloux made me feel inspired to want to fight for others and focus on working with leaders who have the biggest impact on others.

I was really struck by the tenets of Reinventing Organizations which spoke to an organization finding its evolutionary purpose, through letting its people “listen in and understand what the organization wants to become, what purpose it wants to serve.”

This means listening to what the employees have learned from dealing with trusted clients or identifying a community or client need that the organization could meet.

What is your organization’s crusade? Is it worth fighting for?
